적녹백 Chromatic Personae

세 가지 색—적(赤), 녹(綠), 백(白)—의 상징을 중심으로 구성된 세 폭의 평면 스테인드글라스 작업이다. 밭 전(田) 형태의 패턴과 흙, 소금 같은 재료는 땅과 태양, 그리고 노동의 물성을 환기시킨다. 서 있고, 기대고, 누워 있는 세 개의 판은 각각 서로 다른 위격(persona)을 드러낸다. 성경에서 성부, 성자, 성령이 감정과 행동을 지닌 인격체처럼 묘사되며, 노하거나 용서하는 등의 지극히 인간적인 동사로 서술된다는 점이 흥미로웠다.

This three-panel work, composed around the symbolism of three colors (red, green, and white) takes the form of planar stained glass. The field-shaped (田) patterns and materials such as soil and salt evoke the physicality of earth, sunlight, and labor. The three standing, leaning, and reclining panels each embody a distinct persona. The artist was intrigued by how, in the Bible, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are described as persons with emotion and agency—depicted through profoundly human actions such as becoming angered or forgiving.
